Book of Vampires
Book of Vampires, released by Tom Horn Gaming on 27 October 2022, grafts cascades onto the book mechanic, with a 94% reference return and a 19,291x ceiling.

About the game
Based on the studio's documentation and the game's rules screen.
Coffins, headstones and card ranks
The set assembles the expected props: a coffin, a carved stone, a closed grimoire and the usual card ranks filling the low pays. Tom Horn is not chasing visual originality, it is chasing instant recognition.
The result looks dated but works. Anyone who has played a book slot knows where to look on the first spin, and the interface holds no surprises.
The book mechanic, as it runs here
The book does two jobs: it completes combinations like a wild and it triggers free spins like a scatter. When the bonus starts, one symbol is drawn at random and expands for the whole run.
That draw settles the value of the bonus before the first spin. A premium symbol covers the grid and pays; a card rank fills the screen for almost nothing. No bet setting influences the draw.
What the cascades change
This is the interesting addition. Winning symbols leave the board and make room for the ones above, extending a paying spin instead of ending it. A classic book slot has no such extension.
In practice the base game breathes more and the bonus turns more volatile: an expanding symbol that lands twice in the same chain produces the most profitable spins in the game.
94% return: the sore point
The reference rate falls to 94%, low in absolute terms and low for a book slot. The data sheet lists an RTP range, so the build you load may sit elsewhere, above or below.
Under high volatility that return means longer dry runs than elsewhere and a balance that drops faster between bonuses. Read the rate in the in-game help before opening a long session.
19,291x and the bonus buy
The ceiling is comfortable for a book slot, and it rests on the usual conditions: a high expanding symbol, a well-filled grid and a cascade chain that does not stop early.
The bonus buy takes you straight to the draw. It changes neither the theoretical return nor the quality of the symbol drawn. On a 94% title, every buy deserves suspicion.

Rules
Settings and mechanics taken from the studio's published documentation, line by line.
Base game
The provider does not publish the reel grid or the number of paylines. A win occurs when symbols meet the game’s internal payout conditions as shown in the provider‑supplied paytable.
Listed mechanics
Avalanche / Cascading: after a winning combination, winning symbols are removed and replaced by new falling symbols, which can create further wins. Book of ... mechanic: listed by the provider; no further mechanical detail is published here beyond its inclusion. Expanding Symbols: symbols can expand to occupy one or more positions according to the game’s rules when expansion conditions are met. Substitution Symbols: substitution symbols are present and replace other symbols to complete winning combinations. Random Wilds / Additional Wilds and Wild: wilds appear randomly or as additional symbols to substitute for others and form wins. Multiplier and Free Spins Multiplier: multipliers can apply to wins; a free‑spins variant of multiplier is listed. Free spins and bonus entry
The game includes Free Spins and multipliers applicable during those spins as published by the provider.
